On 4 July, the UK P&I Club, a leading P&I insurance provider celebrated its 150th anniversary with a gala dinner held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London.
The event was attended by members and leading figures in the shipping and insurance industries and focused on the Club’s charitable initiatives with the Mission to Seafarers and Mercy Ships and the award of the winners of its global maritime competition “Investing in a Safer Tomorrow”. Our senior partner Carlos Augusto attended the prestigious function.
The UK P&I Club is one of the thirteen members of the International Group of P&I Clubs and one of the oldest mutual P&I providers, established in London in 1869. It currently insures over 244 million tonnes of ships, both owned and chartered, in more than fifty different countries, and is managed by Thomas Miller, an international provider of insurance services, since 1885.
