Sapic holds its 2024 AGM in Chile

Members gathered in Viña del Mar for the Annual General Meeting of the South American P&I Correspondents Association (Sapic)
On 22 November 2024, the majority of Sapic members attended the 20th Annual General Meeting of Sapic, either in person or remotely. The event provided an excellent opportunity for leading P&I club correspondents in the region to discuss common challenges, share insights, and foster cooperation and relationships.
This year’s AGM took place in the charming city of Viña del Mar, central Chile, near the bustling Pacific Coast seaport of Valparaiso. The gathering was impeccably organised by hosts Ruth and Andrew Cave of Cave & Cia. Ltda. from Valparaiso, and chaired by Captain Alejandro Laborde of Chadwick Weir Navegación S.A. from Montevideo, Uruguay, who has ably helmed Sapic since its inception at the turn of the new millennium.
Our partner, Carlos Augusto, represented Proinde, one of Sapic’s founding members, at the event.
Sapic was established in Montevideo in 2001. Currently, this not-for-profit informal Association comprises 17 members across 10 different countries in the Americas.
