Following the tradition, the Standard Club hosted its annual Latin American Forum in Rio de Janeiro last week.
The event included presentations by claims directors and underwriters from the Standard Club, Charles Taylor Adjusting and the Strike Club on topics such as global risks, engineering principles of offshore LNG, and P&I cover for FSRU and FLNG vessels. Executives from the London-based information and analytics providers IHS Markit also gave presentations on the global crude oil market out as well as on opportunities and challenges in the pre-salt gas business.
Players from the Latin American maritime and shipping clusters, including our colleagues Mauricio Alves (Proinde Santos) and Jorge Tavares (Proinde Rio), enjoyed the highly informative forum held at the Fairmount Copacabana and the drinks and canapes offered by the Club to close the event.
